It is a two-year postgraduate engineering program. Typically, a candidate enters the M.Tech program after finishing four years of a bachelor's degree program, such as B.Tech. There is no upper age limit for M.Tech applications. If one truly wants to add value to their credentials, doing M.Tech after B.Tech, B.E, or other comparable studies is a rewarding option.
ME / M.Tech / M.Sc.Eng. and M.Sc.Tech programs in India are often organized as an Engineering Research degree, but are less than a PhD, and are comparable to M.Phil. and M.Sc. degrees in Humanities and Science.
Some well-known colleges in India launched Masters of Engineering and Masters of Science in Engineering programs to create Research Engineers who can also work as "Technologists" in industries and research institutes.
